Introduction

The TBXDS (TBm XML Data Service) is a data replication service for customers of vwd group Netherlands (formerly Tijd Beursmedia, hence TBm). This service is intended to relieve our customers of the burden of Microsoft SQL Server replication, and allow our customers to choose their own method of replication, and database management, without having to maintain a copy of the database of vwd group Netherlands. So, clients have complete control over the data vwd group delivers.

The XML data format chosen is a proprietary standard by vwd group Netherlands, designed to be independent of the actual database structure vwd group uses internally. This way, the data is very accessible, since the clients themselves decide where and how to store it. Also, if clients want a new figure to be added, they only have to contact the account manager of vwd group Netherlands; the XML format is designed to cope with such additions.

Note This document describes the full TBXDS service; most customers only need a fraction of the possibilities. In particular, the <News> information is an extended service, and a lot more complicated than the standard exchange rates delivered to most clients.
